Megan Porter
Megan joined Judge & Priestley in October 2020 and has recently qualified as a solicitor in the Family Department.
Experience
Megan is a First Class Law LLB (Hons) graduate from the University of Kent, Canterbury. She completed her Legal Practice Course at the University of Law, London in 2022 achieving a Distinction.
During her time as a paralegal in the family department Megan gained extensive experience within all areas of family law. As part of her training contract, she worked in the Housing Management Department at Judge & Priestley assisting Landlords in tenant disputes for a year. During that time she mastered working under a high degree of pressure and meeting tight strict deadlines, a skill that she has now brought to the family department with her.
Megan rejoined the Family Department as a Trainee Solicitor in October 2023 where she has run her own caseload as well as assisted senior solicitors and partners within the team in complex cases, qualifying as a solicitor on 1 August 2024.
Megan’s focus during her time in the family department has been on complex children matters and cross border disputes. She has assisted in some of the most complex matters the department has dealt with including reported cases such as Re T (A Child: Application to Permanently Relocate) and Re Child A and Child B (Paternity: Identical Twins). Megan is a fundamental part of the Children & Cross border disputes team within the Family Department where she runs her own caseload and assists senior members of the team. She brings her professionalism, skills and enthusiasm to all the cases she works on to achieve the best possible outcome for her clients.

Megan is an ex-competitive Irish dancer of several years and has previously represented the University of Kent at three different dance competitions against different Universities from around the UK.
Megan is keen on fitness and enjoys going to the gym regularly as well as going for long walks, hikes, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
