Christopher Mills
Christopher qualified in August 2020 and works within Judge & Priestley’s Private Client department.
Experience
Christopher joined Judge & Priestley in 2015. He initially worked as a paralegal whilst he completed his legal studies. He became a Trainee Solicitor in August 2018 after graduating from the University of Law, where he earned a distinction in both his Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice and his MSc in Law, Business and Management. In May 2022 Chris was promoted to Associate solicitor in recognition of his hard work contributing to the growing size and reputation of the Private Client team. Christopher holds a first-class BA(hons) degree in Music from the University of Nottingham and completed the conversion course before embarking on his legal career.
Christopher specialises in Wealth and Succession Planning and has experience of assisting high-net-worth individuals, trustees and executors on a range of complex matters, including those with an international element.
In particular, Chris can assist with the following:
- Preparing Wills
- Creating and terminating trusts
- Administering the estate of a deceased person in accordance with their Will (or, if they did not leave a Will, the intestacy rules)
- Obtaining probate
- Advising on aspects of trust and estate administration, including both legal and tax compliance
- Advising on the tax requirements associated with the administration of trusts and the probate process, to ensure tax compliance and efficiency
Outside of work
In his spare time, Chris enjoys taking extended walks in the countryside, playing racquet sports and indulging his interest in music, books and films.
