Andrew Barron

Andrew joined Judge & Priestley in August 2023 and is a Partner and Assistant Head of the Housing Management Department.

Experience

Andrew is a Chartered Legal Executive with over 25 years of experience in advising on all aspects of housing and leasehold management law and practice, both in terms of acting for Local Authorities and Registered Providers and, immediately before joining Judge & Priestley, a five-year spell as in-house Counsel for a large Registered Provider.

On the contentious side, Andrew has experience dealing with a full range of housing/leasehold matters ranging from Applications for Remediation Orders in the FTT, Judicial Reviews, and defending disrepair claims, as well as injunctive/possession proceedings based on anti-social behaviour.

Andrew's contentious experience is complemented by dealing with non-contentious matters such as drafting policies, advising on lease terms, reviewing/drafting tenancy agreements, and advising on complex housing and leasehold management issues. 

Outside of Work

Andrew is an enthusiastic follower of all sports, particularly, cricket, football, and golf. He also enjoys films, reading, and going to the theatre.
