J&P cycle London to Paris raising over £5,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support

After months of gruelling training, the day finally arrived Wednesday 3rd July, when Mark Oakley and Robert Davis from Judge & Priestley and Tom Thatcher from SAGA joined 140 riders in a four day cycle ride from London to Paris.

The event started in Blackheath with a cycle to Calais via Dover and the final destination being  the Eiffel Tower, Paris after 480KM of strenuous cycling up hills and long days in the saddle.

Robert Davis commented “This event was emotional on so many levels.  It involved a great deal of effort day after day, but ultimately everyone was there for one reason – to support Macmillan Cancer Support.   It was heart-breaking listening to all the stories, whether it was because they felt it was a great cause or that they had lost a loved one.  The route took us through the Somme Valley with the cemeteries and memorials to commemorate those that fell during the wars.”

“I would like to say a massive thank you and a well done to all of the 141 cyclists who took part in something which I will never forget.  And to those who kindly supported team J&P with your kind words and sponsorship which has helped us to raise over £5,000 for this great cause”.
